On the day

The Palacio Real de Madrid is the largest functioning royal palace in Europe, the ceremonial residence of the Spanish Crown. Built for the Bourbons between 1738 and 1755 on the site of the old Alcázar, its State Rooms keep a near-complete eighteenth-century court interior — the Tiepolo-frescoed Throne Room, the Gasparini Room, and one of the world's finest royal armouries.

Frequently asked

Where is the meeting point on the day?
There's no meeting point with us — we are your booking concierge, not an on-site tour. Bring the PDF QR ticket we email you and walk to the entrance on Plaza de la Armería. Skip-the-line holders use the priority lane signposted for online bookings.
Is photography allowed?
Photography without flash is generally allowed in the State Rooms but is prohibited in the Royal Armoury and some temporary exhibitions. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed inside.
How long does the visit take?
Plan 75–120 minutes for the standard route through the State Rooms and the Royal Armoury. Adding the Royal Kitchen and the painting galleries takes it to around 2.5 hours.
Can I watch the Changing of the Guard too?
Yes — it's free to watch from Plaza de la Armería on Wednesdays and Saturdays (outside summer), and the Solemn ceremony on the first Wednesday of most months. Book a palace slot for after it finishes.
